"What I liked most about these rods is that not only are they lightest rods you will ever fish (which means comfort and sensitivity), but they have the strength and backbone to help my clients and me land the big fish"

James Floyd

I was born and raised in Citrus County Florida. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved fishing. As a child, I did some fishing with my father and it wasn’t until I met my future wife, Dana, that I realized my passion for fishing. Dana fished every weekend with her father growing up. Not only did he teach her the “ins and outs” of fishing, he also taught me.

Dana’s dad gifted me my first boat and that’s when I started fishing every chance I got, even after work some days. Dana would join me every now and then fishing.

Once I learned how to catch many different species of fish here in Citrus County, I started looking for people to team up and fish with and that’s when I met my good friend and fishing partner Colby Elsass. Ever since then we have been on the hunt for the best equipment out there and the most efficient way to fish. Along the way, I’ve met many new companies and had opportunity to try their products. Soon, I was introduced to Jaesen at Cajun Rods® and immediately knew I had found the the rods I’d use on my trips. What I liked most about these rods is that not only are they lightest rods you will ever fish (which means comfort and sensitivity), but they have the strength and backbone to help my clients and me land fish with confidence. Cajun Rods® rolls their own blanks from scratch, and each model is handcrafted by the engineer and owner of the company … the attention to detail in the finished Cajun Rods® is second to none and I’m certain that’s why they fish so well.

I’m a firm believer that when you do what you love, the product speaks for itself. As I journey to open my fishing charter, I only want products that align with my vision for my charter which is Southern Tradition and simplicity.
