My two favorite rods are both Cajun! Two completely different missions but on equal scale. The Trigger for Trout and this must have Savannah for bass in the lilly pads. If you are in doubt about buying this particular rod, don’t be anymore. You will buy more for sure because you will be so happy you gave it a try. I use this 7 ft Savannah for everything but keep it rigged for top water. Magical.
This rod has quickly become the go to rod for Texas rigged plastics, swimbaits, heavy spinnerbaits, and even throws bladed/swim/flippin jigs and a frog great. There are better specialty rods for many of those lures, but this rod does about as good, and in many cases is superior like out of a canoe or kayak. I love this with a swimbait, heavy worm, and as a general backup for nearly anything. The sensitivity is amazing, and I can feel and differentiate bites and movement through and over various cover, a trait making this so superior for Bass, and my hookup rate is easily >90% thanks to a solid backbone. I highly recommend you have at least one of these rods in your arsenal of Bass rods on hand at all times, its that good.
I do wish there was a version that had the blank sealed if that is possible, but I realize the rod as is is very light. Made in USA and the Cajun Rod folks really stand behind their products. I own several Cajun Rods, and this is again one of my favorites for big Bass!
I really enjoyed this rod. Used it as my go to. Unfortunately someone stepped on it and rod broke. Will be buying another shortly.
I have been fishing with the Savannah Rod series for several years now. My new one is SUPER LIGHT, and can cast alot of different size lures. And pull in the biggest bass from heavy cover.
